Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to sign up to use this calculator?
No. This birth chart calculator is free and you can run it without an account. Sign-up is only for optional follow-on features (like the emailed PDF flow or using the full app).
What if I don't know my birth time?
Use the “Time unknown” option. We default to noon (12:00 PM) local time for the calculation. Your Rising sign and house cusps can be wrong or unreliable without an accurate birth time; the Sun and Moon are less sensitive to time of day.
Can I get a more detailed interpretation?
Yes. After your chart is generated you can enter your email to receive a PDF interpretation (strengths, cautions, and your big three). The same email may include a one-time sign-in link for a free Astraia account if you want to keep going in the app.
Is a “birth chart” the same as a “natal chart”?
Yes—people use both terms for the same idea: a map of the sky at the moment and place you were born. This tool is a free online calculator for that chart.
Why do birth time and location matter?
Place tells the calculator which sky you were born under (including local time). Birth time sets how the chart “turns”: your Rising sign and houses shift through the day, so an exact time helps when you have it.
Is this a Vedic chart or sidereal zodiac?
No. This is a Western natal chart using the tropical zodiac and a standard house layout—the kind most Western chart tools use by default. We don’t offer Vedic or sidereal modes on this page.
Do you calculate synastry or compatibility between two people here?
